Sports Grant Info (SGI) is an on-line resource for youth sports programs, not-for-profits, schools and community organizations that provide sports, health and recreational programming. SGI understands the importance of sports in the development of a child’s life and a community as a whole. We are committed to providing tools to help grantors and grantees alike in seeking funding and connecting with quality programs.
There are more than 10,000 youth sports programs in the U.S. and the majority of these programs are funded by donations and private dollars. Finding financial support for these programs and organizations is becoming more competitive and difficult. Sports is not an issue or priority for public and private foundations, but rather a tactic to address other issues or priorities, including childhood obesity, health, youth violence, mentoring and community development. We are here to help all parties better understand the sports funding landscape and provide resources you can use to start, grow and deliver your programs locally.
SGI works to bring youth sports administrators and funders together in a forum to learn, share, collaborate and grow.
Many youth sports organizations are managed by an extremely small staff with a passion for making a difference in a child’s life through sports but not necessarily the know-how, time or desire to fund raise. SGI staff has a passion for youth sports as well and the experience and skills in sports fund-raising. SGI has written numerous introductory letters, proposals, grant applications and marketing pieces for small sports-based not-for-profits, schools and recreation organizations and can do the same for you.
